*Warning! Long Post and Princess Picture Overload!*
Last week we went with Grandma Cathy to the Princess Festival in Lindon. It's a small festival for little girls that's all about princesses and all the money goes to charity. We had no idea what to expect but thought we would give it a whirl. After getting a little lost due to the ridiculousness that is Utah County we pulled up and saw a castle, carriage, fountains and we knew Emily was going to love it!
You have to register for a certain day and time because you actually go on a little adventure. Having a limited number made it so nice. We never had to wait for anything and it wasn't crowded so the girls could interact more with the princesses. I was a little worried about Emily's ability to follow along with the adventure story but I figured it probably wouldn't matter since she would still love the princesses.
Our adventure started with our guides Little Red Riding Hood and Jack from Jack and the Beanstalk explaining about the season fairies that we had to help...or something. To be honest, I didn't really follow the story either since I was trying to keep Emily from walking right up to Cinderella or helping herself to the castle. There were about 10 little girls in our group and Emily was definitely the youngest one. We started by going into a large hall. And who was inside?

Cinderella and Prince Charming. You would have thought Emily died and went to heaven. It was the cutest thing. She was so excited!! It almost made me cry to see her so excited. Before we started I was curious how she would react to the princesses. I wasn't sure if she would be too shy to interact with them but that question was answered when she walked right up to Cinderella....even though she was supposed to stay back with the group. All the little princesses had to curtsy to Cinderella and Prince Charming which is why she's holding her dress in this picture. Too cute.

We then made our way outside and had to help the spring fairy's flowers grow. We had some help from Sleeping Beauty, Tiana, and Jasmine!

We were then joined by Belle, Prince Eric, and the summer fairy who needed help to turn the Beast into a prince, and turn Aerial into a princess. Or something. :)

In order to turn the Beast into a prince and Aerial into a princess, the little princesses had to do a dance. My jow dropped when who came to dance with Emily? Prince Eric! Anyone who knows Emily knows how much she talks about dancing with princes. So pretty much a dream fulfilled. Afterward she said "I danced with Prince Eric! He's so handsome." It was super cute.

We then made our way to Snow White and the autumn fairy which I have no clue what happened there because I was standing in the back in the shade. :) Then the moment Emily had been waiting for.....the castle. As you can see in the picture she was ready to ditch the group and go inside. Inside we helped the Snow Queen learn to be nice.

Once our adventure was complete we went on a treasure hunt to receive a prize and we were able to walk around and take pictures with all the princesses.
Cinderella and Prince Charming
The Blue Fairy
Tiana
The Snow Queen
Big Snow White and Little Snow White
Sleeping Beauty and Prince Phillip. We told Prince Phillip that Emily is going to marry him (that's what she always says) and I think he was a little weirded out but Emily was so happy when Sleeping Beauty picked her up to put her on the bed!
Jasmine and Aladdin
Running through the tunnel
Riding in the carriage
Rapunzel
Pocahontas. When we left we asked Emily who her favorite princess was that we saw and she said Pocahontas. What?! No offense to Pocahontas but she's no ones favorite! So random but so funny.
Playing in the fountain with Aerial
Aerial
Belle
My mom and I were very pleasantly surprised with the Princess Festival. Everyone was so good with Emily and always referred to her as Princess or Princess Emily which she loved. All the actors are volunteers and they did such a great job and were always in character. The costumes were really well done and the place is so cool. Other than the 95 degree heat, it was awesome!
If you have a little girl that loves princesses I would definitely recommend it. I think the ideal age is about 5 or 6 but Emily is only 2 and she loved it! We're definitely going to go again next year.
