Princess Emily's Royal Birthday

Emily's birthday party was a few weeks ago. I know, slacker. It was, of course, a princess party. There really was no other option.

At Chase's birthday party I had asked my sister to take pictures for us since it's hard to do when you're hosting a party. She couldn't come to Emily's and I failed to ask anyone else to take pictures so the result is not very many pictures of the actual party. Only one picture of the actual birthday girl, no opening present pictures, and no blowing out the candles pictures. Fail. But we did get that stuff on video so that's good. Anyway....here's the pictures I did get.

Welcome to the party!

A few of the decorations. The nice thing about having a princess party is that we have an abundance of princess stuff at our house so I really didn't have to buy anything for the decorations. It made it nice and easy. :)

We had crowns for everyone to decorate.

The food table. Before the food. I'm kind of bummed about this picture because weirdly one of my favorite things about the whole party was the tulle bows on each corner of the table and I didn't even get a picture of them. Lame.

For the food, I decided to have Emily's favorite foods. Plus a few other things to make it a little more balanced.

We had.....
Grumpy's Pizza Pie = pizza
Fairy Godmother's Magic Wands = breadsticks
Prince Eric's Nuggets (named by Robert!)= chicken nuggets
Flounder's Fishy Friends = goldfish crackers
Merryweather's Tasty Treats = M&M's
Gus Gus's Diet Food = Salad
Cogsworth's Fruity Snack = cut up fruit in fancy glasses

And to drink....
Maleficent's Magic Potion = punch
Mrs. Potts Refreshing Tea = water
Abu's Apple Juice = apple juice

The cake. I had plans to do a lot more with it but I ended up getting REALLY sick the day before her party so I lost a lot of prep time. I'm a little disappointed but she loved it and that's all that matters!

Cute cousins

Playing games. We just did a short little Princess IQ test where you had to match the princess with her prince and name the seven dwarfs. Somehow my grandpa managed to come up with nine dwarfs. :) We also had a big vase filled with jewel rings and everyone guessed how many rings there were. Grandma Sharon was the winner!

Goody Bags for the kids. Filled with princess stuff. Ya know, wand, ring pop, pixie dust, bracelets, etc.

Suckers I made for everyone with a tag that said "May You Live Happily Ever After."

She also got a load of awesome presents. And about 50 cans of Play Doh. :) We're so grateful to everyone that came to celebrate with us!

I had fun with her party and afterward Emily told me "That was the best birthday party ever!" That's all I needed to hear!

Witches

I took the kids to Gardner Village last week. We had fun walking around and getting fudge at Sweet Afton's. It is impossible to get a good picture of Emily these days. If she's not covering her eyes she doing this....

Or this....

And then there's this sweet boy.

Then last week all the girls went to Witches Night Out. If you don't know what it is it's a girls night out (although there were some men there and I felt really bad for them!) that Gardner Village does every year where everyone dresses up like witches and they just have drawings, food, music, dancing, shopping, etc. It was super fun and nice to do something without kids. That doesn't happen very often for me and Robert was great to take care of the kids.

Good times!

Proud Parenting Moment

On Saturday we were downstairs playing and I had the BYU game on in the background so I could kind of check here and there how it was going. Emily asked who was playing and I said BYU. Her reply, "Oh, I don't like BYU." I've never been so proud. :)

Baby Girl

My baby girl is three years old. I was really pretty emotional about it. This girl is such a joy. I really think she's taken about ten years off my life but I love her more than anything. She is constant entertainment. I'm really going to miss this stage of her life.

If you read our blog at all you are well aware that Emily's life revolves around princesses. Literally her entire life. She talks about them from the moment she wakes up until she goes to bed at night. And then she has dreams about them. I love having such a girlie girl but sometimes it's a little exhausting to talk about princesses all day.

Emily loves preschool, painting her nails, jewelry, purses, and wishes she could wear a dress everyday. Her favorite foods are pizza and chicken nuggets. And she needs apple juice rehab. She drinks it like it's liquid crack or something. It's bad. Her favorite TV show is Dora the Explorer. She loves to read, play play-doh, color, and all those 3 year old things. She is a complete mini-me and talks exactly like me which is pretty hilarious. We get a lot of comments on how well she talks and I tell them it's because she gets a lot of practice. She never.stops.talking.

One of the best parts of the last year has been watching Emily be a big sister. She loves Chase so much and is so good with him. When he's taking a nap she asks me about every 5 minutes if she can wake him up because she misses him. They love playing together. And I love watching them interact. It's precious. Of course they fight sometimes too which really just makes me laugh. She's really grown up a lot in the last year and is such an angel and brings us so much joy.

But she'll always be our Baby Girl.

Pumpkin Patch

We've been going to the pumpkin patch with Robert's family about every year since we've been married. The kids loved it and really enjoyed going with their cousins!

Leave it to Emily to wear a dress and princess shoes to the pumpkin patch. What a girl.

These girls are too funny.
